The Full Stack Burger
It's built in layers like a full-stack app: bun on the front end, beef in the back end and cheese holding the whole API together. The site already has "Stack Overflow Pancakes", so this name won't clash. Recipe titles have to be unique.

Ingredients
- 600g beef mince (20% fat), split into 4 balls
- 2 brioche buns
- 8 slices American cheese
- 2 slices Swiss or Emmental cheese
- 6 rashers smoked back bacon
- 1 onion, very thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- Oil, for frying
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp burger sauce or ketchup
- Salt and black pepper
- 500g frozen chips or fries
Method
- Cook the fries following the packet instructions and keep them warm.
- Toss the onion slices in the flour and fry in hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes until crispy, then drain on kitchen paper.
- Fry the bacon in a large pan until crisp, then set aside and keep the pan hot.
- Butter the cut sides of the buns and toast them in the pan until golden.
- Put two beef balls in the hot pan and smash each one flat with a spatula.
- Season with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes until a dark crust forms.
- Flip, top each patty with 2 slices of American cheese and cook for 1 more minute.
- Repeat with the other two beef balls.
- Spread mayonnaise and burger sauce on the bottom bun.
- Stack two patties, the Swiss cheese, the bacon, the other two patties and the crispy onions.
- Add the top bun and press down gently.
- Serve on a board with the fries, and a knife.
